The tides kept rising
The prices of food and necessities follow the tides.
Barely making it as it is
The water seizes to stop
The cost is too high
Turning around in circles, trying to decide which way to go
Do I fight or float?
As some gloat, many will go without coats
What have we become?
How could we stand for this and think we are loving each other?
The rich are getting richer
The poor are getting poorer
Where does that leave the middle class, I wonder?
Times are changing, and not for the better
Some think their way is better
Has this become the problem?
We build walls to keep people out, but what if these same walls are built to keep you in when it’s time to flee this country you love so much?
Love for mankind should be our goal, but some of you have scratched that off the list.
I cry out to Abba Father, knowing what’s coming and asking for His strength to weather these events.
My only hope is that everyone will see that it’s not too late to love all people, no matter their pedigree.
As the world we know will never be the same again
I take a deep breath and prepare to swim, knowing I am not alone.
We have a lifeguard who walks on water and is prepared to walk with us until the end.
