I Will Walk With You

I would like to walk with you through the rain,
I want to hold you close as you fight through this pain.
I want to bring a smile to your face,
As I watch the tears cascade down your face.
I am sorry my words can’t bring you comfort as you grapple with the loss,
I wish I could turn back the hands of time so that you could have said goodbye, knowing you will live with that regret for the rest of your life.
You are always so strong for others in their time of need,
Now, it seems you are alone because you refuse to let me and others be your shoulder to lean on.
Why try to carry this weight alone?
You don’t have to battle this by yourself, but since you assist in pushing all of us away,
I will respect it and give you your space.
Please know that I am only a phone call away if you decide to let me in,
For I know firsthand how grief likes to isolate you
I don’t want you to fight this by yourself, but I will honor your wishes as I cover you in prayer.
Finding the light once darkness has come can be challenging, but I know you will find the strength to overcome it.
I am rooting for you, my love.
Note that I will be there for you no matter the time of day.
