A Country on Fire

The devastation of America. Who is to blame?

The screams,

The fear,

The shock,

The fires,

The floods,

The planes,

The trains,

The boats,

Is there any hope?

The losses,

The unknown,

As we sit back and watch the horror unfold.

The dictatorship,

Censorship of freedom of speech,

Money talks while the rich get richer and the poor rot.

How did it end up this way?

Divide and conquer seems to be the name of the game,

What do you represent, red or blue?

The donkey or the elephant, neither one seems to have a clue,

They both made promises that wouldn’t benefit you.

Yet, here we are, some divided and filled with hate,

Your true colors are showing now, but it’s never too late to change the way you feel about your fellow man.

Change is what’s needed, and I pray it’s not too late,

I pray for the United States and all countries facing the same fate; we all know it’s time to act before it’s too late.
