When you choose to follow Jesus, life doesn’t transform overnight. Change rarely happens rapidly—it unfolds gradually. This walk with Him is a process, and during that process, the enemy loves to attack your mind. He whispers lies to make you believe you’ve chosen the wrong side.
He’ll tell you that you must follow a rigid schedule, you can no longer enjoy anything fun, and Jesus is asking too much of you. He’ll try to convince you that what Christ offers isn’t worth the sacrifice. But every one of those thoughts is a lie.
Many of us expect instant transformation the moment we choose Jesus, but this journey is unique and deeply personal. Just like any relationship, your relationship with Christ must be cultivated—nurtured through prayer and through learning His character in the Word of God.
We often try to stop sinning in our own strength, but the truth is we need the help of the Holy Spirit. For me, the more time I spent getting to know God, the more my desires changed. The things that once pulled me away from Him slowly lost their power. Not because I was strong, but because I surrendered. I placed my trust in Jesus, and He began to change me from the inside out.
We must believe that God wants the absolute best for us. The process is long—filled with highs and lows—but every step has purpose. Even the difficult moments are working for your good.
I encourage you to hold tightly to the Word of God. He is there—waiting, walking with you.
He chose you—flaws and all. Don’t allow the lies of the enemy to derail you from drawing closer to Jesus. He will remove whatever is not pleasing to Him if you trust the process and believe that His desire is to bless, shape, and guide you.
It’s time to step out of religious routines and step into relationship—a relationship built on trust, love, honesty, and a genuine desire to know Him for yourself.
