When one door closes and another opens, are you prepared to move forward, or will you let fear of the unknown hold you back? Change can be scary—this I know, because my life has changed so much over the years. Many of those changes were hard to accept because I was comfortable where I was. I had to learn how to let go, even if it meant doing it afraid. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). Change is never easy, but it’s necessary for growth.
In order to step onto the next path Jesus has for us, we must move when He prompts us—even when we don’t understand in the moment. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5–6). Over the past two years, I have been on a faithful walk with God, moving when He tells me to, not knowing what I am walking into. But I knew He would always be there for me, and He would never lead me to a place where He wouldn’t sustain me. “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:8).
If God is asking you to move, I suggest that you move. He knows the plans He has for your life, and those plans will not harm you but elevate you to the level He has prepared for you. “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). It’s time to walk by faith and not by sight—“for we live by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Here’s to trusting God on your next move.
