O Lord, You are my light in the darkness, my guide when the way is hidden.
When I stumble and cannot see my path,
You go before me and make my steps sure.
I will bless You at all times,
for You knew me before I was formed.
You numbered my days, ordained my steps,
and knew every valley I would walk
and every moment I would need Your light.
You did not leave me without it.
Though the night was long and the shadows heavy,
Your light did not fail me.
I did not perish in the darkness,
for Your mercy preserved me,
and Your grace carried me through.
Your light shines upon the unknown.
It is my strength when my heart grows weary
and my song when my spirit is faint.
By Your light I rise when I would have quit,
and by Your breath, I am sustained.
You are my Lord, my Savior,
my refuge, and my salvation.
Your light will lead me all the days of my life,
until the darkness is no more,
and I dwell forever in Your presence.
