Refusing to Dim: A Poem About Truth and Courage

Choosing Light in a Dark World

Silhouette figure glowing with inner light standing in darkness representing resilience and refusing to dim.

Refusing to Dim

The things once hidden

are now revealed.

The truth is ugly,

but it sets you free.

The world you thought you knew

was never what it seemed.

Many called truth a lie

until they saw

the ones meant to uphold the law

were the ones who broke it.

How do you move forward in a world overcast in darkness,

where light seems scarce

and flight seems the only way out?

You move forward anyway.

Not because the darkness lifts,

but because the light in you refuses to dim.

You plant your feet in truth,

even when it trembles beneath you,

and you choose courage

over escape.
