Learning to Release Control and Trust the Limitless Nature of God

God will always exceed the box we try to place Him in.
There was a time when I thought I understood You—not fully, but enough to feel confident in what You would and wouldn’t do. I didn’t realize it then, but I had placed You inside a box. I created boundaries around You with my own thoughts, my expectations, and my limited understanding. I found myself saying things like, “God wouldn’t do this,” or “God wouldn’t move like that,” as if I had the authority to define the Creator.
Even after beginning my relationship with You, I still wrestled with leaning on my own understanding. It was familiar and comfortable, but it was also limiting because You are not limited. Your Word reminds me that Your thoughts are not my thoughts and Your ways are not my ways, yet I still tried to make You fit into what I could comprehend.
Just when I think I’ve figured You out, You reveal another side of Yourself—a deeper layer, a greater dimension, a truth that stretches my faith beyond where it was before. And each time, I am reminded that I don’t know You the way I think I do, and somehow that realization brings me peace.
You are not one-dimensional. You are not confined to human reasoning. You are all-knowing, all-powerful, and beyond full understanding. Yet, in Your grace, You choose to reveal Yourself to me piece by piece—not all at once, but in ways my heart can grow into.
I am grateful for every side of You that You allow me to see, even the parts that challenge me, even the parts that correct me, even the parts that humble me.
I’ve learned that faith is not about figuring You out; it’s about trusting You without needing to. So today, I make a decision: I will no longer place You inside a box. I will no longer declare what You would or wouldn’t do.
Because You are God, and I am still learning about You.
And in that learning, I am being transformed.
