Philippians 4:13 (NLT) For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
There are moments in life when the pressure feels unbearable—like everything is closing in and there’s no release in sight. You try to hold it together, but the weight keeps building, testing every part of you.
I’ve been there.
The kind of pressure that almost takes you down…
the kind that whispers, “Just give up—it would be easier.”
But somewhere in the middle of that tension, a realization began to rise within me:
The pressure never actually stopped me.
Instead, it revealed something I didn’t fully recognize before—strength. Not my own strength, but the strength that comes from Christ.
When I look back over everything I’ve overcome, I can see it clearly now. Every difficult moment, every heavy season, every time I thought I wouldn’t make it—God was building something in me.
The pressure wasn’t sent to destroy me.
It was allowed to develop me.
It taught me how to stand tall when giving up felt like the easiest option.
It reminded me that I am not standing alone.
It showed me that what’s inside of me—through Christ—is greater than what’s pressing against me.
Sometimes we pray for the pressure to be removed, but what if God is using it to strengthen our foundation?
What if the very thing you’re asking God to take away is the same thing He’s using to prepare you?
Because the truth is, we can do all things—not because we’re strong on our own, but because our strength comes from Christ.
So when the pressure builds again—and it will—don’t let it break you.
Let it build you.
Prayer: Lord, When the pressure feels overwhelming and I can’t see a way out, remind me where my strength comes from. Help me not to run from the pressure, but to grow through it. Strengthen my faith in the middle of the weight, and teach me to stand firm on everything You’ve already brought me through.
Let every difficult moment draw me closer to You, not further away. And when I feel like giving up, remind me that I can do all things through You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
The pressure didn’t come to destroy you—it came to remind you who you are in Christ.
