Casting Stones

Casting Stones

A Reflection on Judgment, Grace, and Hidden Brokenness

In this walk with Jesus, I’ve learned that people can be quick to judge the mistakes they see while hiding battles of their own. But God continues to remind me that grace, compassion, and forgiveness matter more than condemnation. “Casting Stones” is a reflection on hypocrisy, healing, and the importance of being honest before God instead of pretending to be innocent before people.

You cast the first stone
as if you were innocent,
unaware that your own skeletons
were waiting to be exposed.

Are you prepared
for the light
to reveal
the darkness
you’ve been hiding?

You will learn
how painful it feels
when secrets
are no longer secret.

How could you condemn me
for the very things
you were doing yourself?

Whatever happened
to compassion?
To forgiveness?

I made a mistake—
and now,
so have you.

So will we keep hiding
behind the stones
we throw,
or will we confess
those dark secrets
to the One
who already knows them?
