One year later, the message remains the same: know your worth and walk in the identity God has given you.
A year ago, I wrote a post titled “Are They Worthy of You?” and shared a poem called “You Are Worthy.” As I reflected on those words today, I realized the message is just as relevant now as it was then.
Far too many people spend their lives questioning their value because of how they have been treated by others. Rejection, betrayal, neglect, and disappointment have a way of making us feel as though we are not enough. When we repeatedly accept less than we deserve, we can begin to believe the lie that minimum effort, broken promises, and unhealthy relationships are all we are worthy of receiving.
But the truth remains unchanged: your worth was never determined by another person’s ability to recognize it.
People may overlook you. They may take advantage of your kindness. They may fail to appreciate what you bring to the table. Yet none of those things diminish your value. A diamond does not lose its worth because someone fails to recognize it. Likewise, you do not lose your worth because someone chooses not to honor, respect, or appreciate you.
As believers, our identity is found in God. We are sons and daughters of the King. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are loved, chosen, and created with purpose. When we truly understand whose we are, we stop settling for situations, relationships, and environments that continuously devalue us.
The poem I wrote a year ago speaks of reaching a breaking point and finding the courage to walk away from what no longer serves God’s best for your life. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is fix our crown, trust God with the outcome, and move forward knowing that we deserve what aligns with His will for us.
If you find yourself struggling with self-worth today, let this be your reminder: You are not who others say you are. You are not defined by your mistakes, your failures, your past, or someone else’s opinion of you. You are defined by the God who created you.
Know your worth. Walk in your purpose. Guard your heart. And never forget that you are worthy of love, respect, honor, and the good things God has prepared for your life.
The message I shared a year ago still stands today: You are worthy.
Below, I have embedded the original post and poem exactly as they were written. My prayer is that these words encourage you to recognize your value, fix your crown, and walk confidently in who God created you to be.
